~*FLY Fusion Pentop Computer aka "FLY Pen"*~

Among the vast number of “emerging technologies” present today, exist a new technological device for hand-writing. The FLY Fusion Pentop Computer, referred to as the “FLY-Pen” for short, is a computerized pen that scans and records the writing of its user and performs a variety of educational and interactive functions. It can basically be thought of as a computer without a keyboard, coming in the form of a pen. The FLY-Pen’s target market is aimed towards the age group that range between seven and fourteen years old. Advertised by the manufacturer LeapFrog Enterprises Inc. as an “educational toy”, it is considered as the ideal homework help system. This technological instrument was designed and developed by the LeapFrog Enterprises Inc. who produces technology based educational products that are specifically focused in providing the most effective experience of learning for all to enjoy.

The FLY Fusion Pentop Computer operates under a computer processor that is embedded within the pen. It is an educational gadget that contains a micro computer chip and includes a speaker as well as a tiny camera which is mounted half an inch from the ballpoint tip. For all of its educational, interactive functions, the FLY Pen requires a specialized paper in which the surface is imprinted with millions of nearly invisible micro-dots, called the FLY Paper. As the user writes, the pen understands and recognizes the writing by keeping track of the dot patterns covered by the pen, along with the mounted camera watching its every move. The FLY Pen’s power comes from an optical scanner that observes everything one writes on the special dot-matrix FLY Paper.

The FLY Pen is known to be the world’s first Pentop Computer. In 2005, the FLY Pen was recognized as the winner of the Toy of the Year Award. The FLY Pen was acknowledged as one of the “Best Toys of 2007” guide in the Parents Magazine as well as awarded with 4 out of 5 Star Rating from the PC Magazine. In such a technologically advanced society that we live in, where everything is done with a computer and typing of a keyboard, the FLY-Pen in a way allows for the preservation of traditional hand-writing while including the new technological features of writing on the keyboard and a computer. Fly-Pen is a revolutionary technological devise that completely changes the ways in which we write.

~*~*All About Me*~*~

Hi, my name is Stacy Thankam Mathai!!!! I was born on March 11, 1987. I was born and raised in Stamford, CT. I am the oldest child in my family. I live with my mom and dad, two younger sisters, and my baby brother. My sister Phebe is fifteen years old and my other sister Sheba is thirteen years old. My baby brother Philemon is in first grade and he is seven years old. I am fifteen years older than my baby brother, I feel more like his mother than his sister!

Currently, I am a Junior in college. I am the first in my family to attend a university. I attend The University of Connecticut - Stamford Campus. My major is in Business and Technology and a concentration in finance and marketing. I hope to graduate in May 2009. I am looking forward to graduate from the University of Connecticut with a bachelor’s degree and moving on to a higher degree by going to grad school. That leads me to my next goal of receiving my masters in either Engineering or Business. Eventually, I want to be able to find a stable job that pays me well and offers good benefits. Not only that, but to go to work everyday knowing that I love my job. A long term goal that I have in mind is to attend a Bible Seminary where I can learn thoroughly and expand my own knowledge about the Bible itself.

My ultimate goal in life is to do missionary work by becoming an evangelist. I have always had a deep desire to go to other countries and spread the gospel of Christ ever since I was little. I want to be the one who is opening doors for those who are in poverty and need that helping hand. Moreover, I want to build orphanages in foreign countries, such as Africa, China, and India and help the less fortunate. Through that others can learn about Christ, the only Savior who died for all humanity. At the end, I hope that I will be able to touch and turn lives around for the good of our society.
